Britt Baumann
Britt Baumann is a veteran who served with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) as a Finance Clerk. Her husband of 30 years has recently retired after serving in the CAF for 45 years. Being a military spouse has enabled Britt to experience life across Canada and she has come to understand how working families have similar concerns and values no matter which province or territory we reside in. She understands that the increasing cost of housing, groceries, home heating, and daycare have become difficult for working people. More than ever, the people of Moose Jaw—Lake Centre—Lanigan require solutions for this affordability crisis. That means we must implement policies that will increase the availability of good quality affordable housing and create programs that will support working families.
Britt has a PhD in public policy from the University of Saskatchewan and an MA in sociology from Acadia University. She has worked as a policy analyst for the last several years, and has focused on policy solutions involving resource development, First Nations land management, and creating equitable Impact Benefit Agreements between First Nations and mining corporations. Additionally, Britt has contributed to the conversation on disability rights and is a strong advocate for Inclusion.
Britt has settled in the Rural Municipality of Dundurn, on a small acreage where she grows her own vegetables using organic methods. She cares about conserving Saskatchewan farmland and our water supply, ensuring that it will continue to feed families now and in the future.
